Description
This listing is for a single powder coat stand, meant to streamline and ease the process of powder coating stainless steel drinking containers. Tumblers, ramblers, cups, jugs, thermos, etc. Brands such as YETI, RTIC, Ozark Trail, HOGG, Axis, etc. Multiple stands are shown in the photos, to show the flexibility and variety of cups/tumblers that will fit. This stand is very easy to use, and makes powder coating a snap! It's free-spinning "lazy susan" design means you can effortlessly rotate the cup to apply an even coat, WITHOUT having to remove your ground clip, or even change gun position. Simply select the "top hat" piece (3 sizes included) which fits inside your drinkware. Place the cup upside down on the stand, and rotate the slotted "spin plate" up or down until the cup rests solidly on the "cup rest plate". I personally like to use a blue shop paper towel between the cup and the rest plate, to keep powder from entering the cup, and give a nice, finished edge. Others like to use silicone sheet, or silicone plugs. All can be used with this stand. I also advise to put a small piece of tin foil at the top of the stand to give the best electrical connection, as well as provide additional stability.
Once the cup is on the stand, attach your ground clip to the tang on the bottom plate. Spray the cup, and spin the heavy weighed bottom plate (weighted to prevent tip overs!) to rotate the cup. You don't even have to change the gun position! Once the cup is coated, rotate the "spin plate" down, to leave the cup hanging from the top of the stand. Remove your paper towel or silicone sheet (if you choose to do so), and live the entire stand by the "spin plate". You can place the whole stand in the oven, and never have to remove a ground clip!
3 "top hat" pieces are included, which fit all the drinkware shown in the listing. It probably fits more, as well. I've yet to find a common drinkware style I can't put on the stand. The stand is approximately 12" tall when assembled.
Features:
* Small top hat pieces allow fitment of sports bottles.
* Cup rest plate is oversized for large openings, such as the 40oz tumblers.
* Slotted and contoured "spin plate" gives good grip, allows for easy spinning without slipping.
* "Spin plate" is oversized relative to cup rest plate, allowing for easy grip and rotation, without hitting your knuckles or fingers on the plate above. This means you won't be bumping your stand, which means you won't be risking blemish on your powder coat!
* Bottom plate has grounding tab built in, can be used with clip-style (such as alligator clips), or has hole for bolts or screws.
* Weighted base plate ensures stability, reduces chances of tips or knock-overs.
* "lazy susan" style rotation allows you to spin the cup to ensure even coating, without removing ground clip, or repositioning cup or spray gun!
