Description
50th Anniversary Cast2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the Patterson – Gimlin Bigfoot Film taken on October 20, 1967. Gold is the cool of 50th anniversaries, so it is only fitting to have a gold version of the Patterson – Gimlin cast. Making it extra special we created a special Bluff Creek emblem which is inlaid into the cast. Each one is hand painted and given a distressed, aged look by antiquing the gold and roughening up the emblem. A wonderful collector's item for Bigfoot enthusiasts.
Original Supplier of Bigfoot Merchandise Online
As the original supplier of Bigfoot Merchandise online, most of the copies you see are copies made from the cast I have been selling for almost 30 years, so make sure to get the best copy available from the original seller.
This is an authentic copy casting from one of the Bigfoot track castings made in Bluff Creek, California shortly after the famous Patterson-Gimlin film was shot. The copy was shared with me by Ray Crowe who I would visit when I went to Oregon to continue the Bigfoot research that I started doing in California in 1993 on. As a professionally trained mold maker, I carefully created the silicone mold of that cast. Using fine art plaster along with proper mixing techniques and the best possible medical grade silicone mold, I have captured detail far greater than in any of the other techniques or other casting material. No reinforcements needed when done properly.
Bigfoot Evidence - Bluff Creek, California 1967
On October 20, 1967, Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin had an encounter in the northern California wilderness with a Sasquatch, which they captured on film. The 952 frames of 16mm film have become the most controversial, but convincing evidence of Bigfoot's existence to date.
According to the historical record of the time there were ten footprints found during the October encounter and a number of castings were made from those. This a plaster copy of one of those castings taken over 50 years ago.
Know what You're Getting
Be aware! As more copies become available you will notice a level of quality. I can assure you that as a professional mold maker and plaster expert I clearly see issues with some of the other casts by new sellers. Take a look at their photos and notice the lack of fine detail, the type of detail you will see in the casts I make. This is because their mold is made poorly of a copy of a copy of a copy. Like a bad Xerox.
Now those same vendors have become professional mold makers from the 90's as well. Quick research of domain registration shows them starting only 9 years ago.
Look closely at the photos of the other casts if you are comparing, and you will see many small holes. This is due to poor plaster mixing and pouring techniques. Rather than taking time to do it right which takes longer, it is rushed to make them cheap and air bubbles occur. Some minor ones are typical, but many large ones as seen on other versions are not normal. Also by mixing materials in the casting will cause the defects. All those imperfections weaken the plaster which is why reinforcement is then needed and extra care in shipping, so they don’t break.Standard packing peanuts in a proper box is all you need.
No reinforcements needed when done properly. Comes sealed with a thin layer of acrylic.
