CONDITION:
Consolidated produced this Five Fruits One Pound Box.  They did not list it as a candy or powder so that you could purchase the box to use as you wish.  This lovely piece has an unusual multicolored hightlighted decoration.  This box is in
Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage.
The unusual Multi-Colored decoration looks as though it was rubbed on and finished afterward
with a clear
fired on finish to keep it from wearing.
The colors are fantastic.
The Five Fruits pattern pattern is enhanced by this treatment.
The one pound box in the Five Fruits pattern is shown in the book
"PHOENIX & CONSOLIDATED ART GLASS 1926-1980" by Jack D. Wilson.
This unusual treatment is shown on other pieces but not on the Fruits box.
Five Fruits (circa 1926) -
Five Fruits was a Hand Wrought Art Glass Production and was a part of the
Martelé
line.  Ruben Haley created a number of patterns for a line Consolidated / Phoenix called
Martelé
.  These creations which included pieces in Bird of Paradise, Five Fruits, Hummingbird, Katydid, Iris, Fish,  and Santa Maria patterns were introduced at The Pittsburgh Associated Glass and Pottery Show in 1926.  Other patterns in the
Martelé
line include Love Bird, Dogwood, Sea Gull, Pine Cone, Blackberry, C0ckatoo, Bittersweet, The Olive vase, Dancing Girl, Dragon Fly and No.
701
.  These patterns can be found in a variety of colors and treatments.
