Description
This is a family group of cabinet cards. I purchased these years ago with the intention of figuring out who they are and perhaps returning to the family, but I was never able to do so. There are seven cards, all of them are 6 1/2" x 4" in size. Six of them are black and white with sepia tones, one has been colored, most likely by hand and it looks almost like an artist card. They are in good condition. There are names and dates penciled onto the backs of some of these cards. I was able to find out some information for the oldest gentleman, he was the Count of a French Territory, I have forgotten which. I used an online genealogy service for one month to find that much out. The young man appears to be either his son or grandson. The rest I never was able to get around to.
I was super intrigued to find out how a Count ended up in Arkansas......
So this is a project set of family cards. It would be fun if you have an online genealogy program to find out more, there has to be a story here! And how did these cards end up in a liquidation auction in Arkansas when they look so exotic.
Email me with any questions and thanks for looking!
